“We Skate” is an interactive skating experience designed for skaters at all skill levels, which allows them to record and track their skating progress, as well as share and compete with each other.
How might we develop a creative and attractive communication and tracking method to enhance the experience of skating.
The project aims to support skater lovers, provoke public interests, and possible promotion for the sport.
Access to technology and public resources are limited, the final app design is a prototype, and I was not able to carry out my design in the real world. For future opportunities, I wish to collaborate with a programmer and an ice rink to implement my design.
For the final deliverables, the wearable prototype was able to provide an interactive skating experience for skaters, and our App prototype passed the usability testing.
As a skate lover, I found more and more technology start being use in various of sports competition, training, and every-day exercise. I couldn't help wondering, what about figure skating? There is hardly any technology or equipment for skate lovers. This is my motivation for this project.
